The Wildlife Department teaches youth the Iñupiat value of taking only what is necessary to survive just as the Elders have for thousands of years. They learn that hard work is involved with catching and storing food by participating in this ice cellar clean-up.

The game that is taken from the wild is used to supplement the food bank that helps to provide nourishment to elders, children, and families.
